Types of activities offered include social and recreational programs, arts and crafts, music activities, wellness seminars, nutrition training and health screenings. Fitness classes include evidenced based exercise programs to include:

  • Walk with Ease
  • Arthritis Exercise
  • A Matter of Balance
  • Tai Chi for Seniors

Laptop computers and WiFi are available for use.

Meals must be reserved one day prior to the desired meal. Meals are free to eligible participants. Eligibility is determined through an assessment conducted by the Lower Savannah Council of Government who determines eligibility for the program. Requirements are as follows:

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A person age 60 or older
  • The spouse of the older program beneficiary, regardless of age
  • A disabled person under age 60 who resides with an older program beneficiary
  • A person under 60 who volunteers at the group center five or more hours a week during meal hours
  • Guests both over and under the age of 60 are welcome to attend the group dining program, but are expected to pay the full amount of the meal.

In addition to the congregate meal program, Generations Unlimited delivers daily meals to home bound seniors. All meals meet 1/3 of the dietary needs for the day and are provided five days per week with the exception of approved holidays. In addition to the delivery of a nutritious meal, volunteers and staff conduct wellness checks and interact with seniors who may have no other contact.

Eligibility is determined by an assessment through the Lower Savannah Council of Government.
